a lonely cry in the night (Spiritfire DTE Entry)
Ghostly blue flames, an ethereal beacon of light in the darkness.
The chime of a ringing bell, piercing through the silence.
Legend tells of a lonely plush dragon who roams the base of Mt. Nevicata, aimlessly searching for something it can never seem to find. Its piercing blue eyes are as icy as its surroundings, but there seems to be a deep sadness behind them. A sense of longing burns along with the ghostly flames of its tail, lighting the way even in the very worst of blizzards.
Some say the mysterious plush dragon appears before others lost in the storm, acting as a guide through the strong gusts of wind & snow. It never speaks, the only sound accompanying it is the ring of the spirit bell tied around its neck, said to be able to calm even the most panicked of individuals.
Its presence is calming and otherworldly, but never seems to linger. Once travellers are out of harm’s way, it’s said to disappear, as if it had never been there in the first place.
And so it continues to roam, as if forever bound to the snowy mountain, forever plagued by loneliness & longing, hoping one day something will change.
Or so the rumors say.

“Do you think they’re still out there?”, a small, cream-coloured plush dragon asked.
“Maybe. Not many have seen them, so it’s hard to tell…”, the other, much larger plush dragon replied gingerly, closing up a small storybook.
“I think they just want a friend, they just don’t know how to make ‘em…”, the smaller plush dragon mused, tilting his head slightly “Maybe they’re like Theo and they can’t speak well?”
“Who’s to say, really?”
“...”
“What’s that look for?”, asked the larger plush dragon, adjusting the sunflower that decorated her hair, “You aren’t thinking of going over to the Shadow Keep to look for them, are you?”
“I just don’t want them to be lonely anymore…”, the smaller said sadly. Nobody should be all alone in this world. That was too cruel…
“Well, in that case, I suggest you at least prepare before you do anything reckless. The blizzards in that place are no joke, you know that Miles…”
“I know, I know…”, Miles reassured his friend Chihiro. He was much too anxious to go into anything without a plan, “I’ll think it over, okay?”
“Good…”, the other replied, seeming satisfied with that answer, “Well, I must be heading back home now, or else I won’t make it before dark~! See you around, Miles!”
“See ya, Chi-chan!”

“I promise I’ll look for you, buddy. Maybe then you won’t have to be so lonely anymore…”
