As Confetti crossed the threshold of the pet store, she heard a faint snuffling sneeze in the nearby distance. Struggling not to get her hopes up, she searched through boxes and bins in the room, trying to find any clue as to the source of the noise. After scouring the room for what seemed like half an hour, she headed further back into the next room.
Here she heard the sneeze again but was still unable to determine where it was originating. Opening cabinets and rifling through drawers, she once again found nothing to aid her in her quest to recapture the lost companions. She continued for some time: searching a room, finding nothing, moving on to the next one, repeat.
After searching through all of the rooms, she headed outside to check around the building. Stepping into the alleyway, she immediately spotted them. A large group of companions near-perfectly matching the description she was given were huddled in the alley beside the store. Most of them appeared to be playing with toys that she had seen displayed on the shelves inside.
Stepping quickly around the side of the building, she called her friends and informed them that she had found the companions and was waiting for them by the pet store. Her friends responded that they were on their way, so she hung up and started to wait for their arrival.
While waiting, she was extremely impatient, so she decided to step further around the side of the building; but slipped and fell on her stomach, alerting the companions of her presence.
Before she had time to speak, she was covered in a volley of licks and a pile of soft, fuzzy creatures. Belly-laughing so hard it hurt, she struggled to stand up amidst the ambush of tounges and tails, stumbling around and falling back down again several times. Luckily, her friends arrived moments later with the element of surprise to aid them in capturing the fluffy canids.
Pulling out a large net and a bone, Hocus coaxed most of them to run right into the net, scooping them up in one swipe. The remaining companions immediately started to panic at the capture of their friends, yapping and jumping at the net.
"Don't worry, your friends are okay!" Hocus said as she enclosed the remaining companions in a bubble of magic, teleporting them to the inside of the net.
"Time to get these guys home!" Pocus said triumphantly.
Hocus attempted to lift the net but struggled profusely, only able to raise part of it off the ground. Coming to a solution, she decided to share the weight of the net between her and Confetti in order to lighten the load. Resting one part of the net on her shoulder and the other on Hocus's, Confetti and her friends headed off into the night towards the shop, successful in their hunt.
Trudging along the streets of the city, Confetti reminisced over her adventure, glad to have the fortune of meeting such wonderful people.
