Pecan lifted his head sleepily as he stirred from a slumber full of warm, cozy and comforting dreams. The little dragon exhaled softly from his nose, slowly blinking sleep from his blurry eyes. He raised his snout, looking around quietly at his little humble abode. A cozy little cabin-themed room surrounded him, adorned with various wooden decorations, blankets, and other trinkets. Wiggling the tired from his legs, Pecan rose to his feet and streeeeetched, a small squeaky yawn escaping his jaws.
He padded nimbly over to his small countertop, and bopped his paw against the 'on' button for his coffee machine-- after all, he couldn't start a day without his coffee! As the hot drink brewed, Pecan tilted his head, turning to look at his small bulletin board with notes posted here and there. Today's note read... Spring cleaning! Oh no. Pecan's brows knit in concern. He had always had such a difficult time with this task... How could it have snuck up on him so soon!? Now with a small sigh, he turned back to the coffee maker as it dispensed into a warm, sunflower-colored mug with a thick handle. He grabbed a small spoon in his jaws, and gently scooped a few heaps of glimmering sugar into the mug. He set the spoon down, and promptly picked up the creamer next to it. He gently poured the viscous liquid into the steaming mug, watching as the cream swirled inside the cup.
Now that he had his morning energy concocted, Pecan stirred it and took a small sip, feeling the energy zing through all his paws and wings! Okay! I can do this, he thought as he looked around his room. There honestly wasn't even too much he wanted to get rid of, and he kept his room reasonably tidy. The plush dragon first started near his bed, nosing through a small cabinet that contained various blankets and cloth of sorts. Frowning, he pawed through the top few blankets before softly pulling out an acorn-colored blanket, the edges knotted in a sort of frizzy pattern. He nodded to himself, and gently set it in a wooden basket near the door. This blanket had never really gotten much use, so he figured he'd donate it for someone else to use!
Moving along to his small wardrobe, the little dragon used a paw to pry open the old oak-wood doors, and stared down his slim collection of accessories and clothing. He wasn't really one to get dressed up, so he didn't keep much in terms of clothing. However, he did have a small poncho made specifically for plush dragons, and he thought it might look nicer on someone else. It was colored like honey, orangey-yellow and golden, and had small darker knitted details that drew the eye. Smiling a bit at the thought of someone else being able to put this to use, he hurriedly grabbed it and trotted over to place it gently in his basket.
What else... Hmmm... Pecan lifted his head and twitched his ears, sniff-sniffing his room out for clues. Surely there had to be more he wanted to get rid of. He stood there for a moment, eyes shifting across the room until... Ah-ha! He knew he had been forgetting something. Draped from a little shelf in the far back corner was a hand-knitted scarf, thick and plush, and perfect for keeping someone warm. Pecan had only worn it a couple times before he'd decided it was a bit TOO warm for his taste, and decided someone else would like it much more than he! So, with that, he stretched his little paws up on to the wall, and snatched the end of the scarf gently in his mouth, pulling it down from the shelf. With that, he spun back around, and set the scarf colored like autumn leaves on top of the basket. Ahhh, a perfect day of 'spring cleaning.' He grinned a little bit as he picked up the basket and pushed his nose through the door. He knew he wouldn't be able to convince himself to get rid of much. But...
Well, he hoped what he DID rehome helped someone else. That was enough for him.
